Milestones
From research to the production line
Four shape-optimized prestressed floor slabs, spanning 35 feet, were fabricated by J.P. Carrara & Sons, Inc. and installed by Pinnacle Precast and Steel Erectors Inc. on the same residential project.
Selected for BOOST 7, Suffolk Technologies' seventh annual accelerator program for early-stage companies transforming the built environment.
A residential project is awarded with Cimbra-designed multi-ribbed slabs. The multi-ribbed design replaces a traditional 12″ hollowcore plank, allocating material only where it's structurally needed.
Full-scale, fully permitted and insured low-carbon structural system exhibited at the Structural Engineering Institute's annual conference, demonstrating commercial readiness.
Shape-optimized prestressed floor slab poured, cured, and structurally tested — 33% lighter than a standard 8″ hollowcore plank at only 6¾″ deep.
$290,300 non-dilutive grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to demonstrate shape-optimized concrete floor systems at full scale.
$100,000 grand prize recognizing Forma Systems' potential to scale optimized structural systems.
